СТWild Seed Of Mother EarthТТ is VOODOO HILLТs second offering after the self named debut some four years ago. That record received some excellent reviews what with the scintillating guitar work of respected and busy! Italian guitarist/ producer Dario Mollo and more than ably supported by none other than the СТvoice of RockТТ Glenn Hughes.
This new album features some the heaviest material Hughes has sung on since his rather botched attempt with BLACK SABBATH in the 1980Тs. Opening track СТMake BelieveТТ has a bone crushing riff that pans into a quite delightful Hard Rock song. HughesТs vocals and the overall delivery are exceptional. СТStill EvergreenТТ is a good stab at early DIO and sounds like an Americanised SABBATH. MolloТs guitar playing through riff and solo is quite exhilarating. He nails down riffs with graceful aplomb and the solo on СТStill EvergreenТТ is shredding to the max. With songs such as СТDying To LiveТТ and СТCanТt Stop FallingТТ reaching almost into Power Metal territory and the QUEENSRYCHE/ RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS sounding title track to the driving Rock of СТMy DonТt See ItТТ, СТWild Seed Of Mother EarthТТ is something special traversing punchy, hard driving Metal with classy Melodic Rock blessed with the supreme voice of Hughes and the musicianship of Mollo.
Marrying classy Melodic Rock with dark, brooding riffs and sealing it with catchy, anthem like choruses is perhaps not to every ones liking but VOODOO HILL have a potential monster release in the waiting here.~ metal-observer.com
