Over the course of the past five years or so, The Vandelles have come to command their own corner in the local music scene. They occupy a territory that covers the Pulp-rock stylings of early Jesus and Mary Chain colliding with a sandy island of slinky hula riffs and harmonic dissonance.

The bands roots are in New Brunswick, where they formed during their college years, from the members of two separate bands. Soon after, they found themselves playing in Texas with The Black Angels, but have since relocated to Brooklyn. They emote California style to the max, like a beached orphan of X, making their eastern seaboard ties all the more remarkable.

The band features an all-female rhythm section, Lindsey and Honey bash out thunderous riffs while Jasno squeals feed-backing solos, all set to tropical-themed rear projections. They take all of the beach vibes of a Ventures record and run them through a static cracked sound wave, adding a gleaming finish to their vintage approach to both songwriting and sonic allocation. They come on like a hazy dream, full of just the right amount of nostalgia to get the senses up and running. Their first EP grabbed them an MTV spot, as well as countless live shows, including a pre-SXSW southeast tour with The Warlocks that brought them through seven different states and culminated at the Austin Pych Fest. August 2010 they released their first full length "Del Black Aloha" dubbed "Noir Rock and Roll" with the cult hits Lovely Weather - which was featured on ABC's Body of Proof October 11th 2011 - and Bomb the Surf featured in several films and most recently in EA Games Need for Speed The Run released November 15th 2011. The Vandelles were a headlining act at Iceland Airwaves 2010 dubbed "the coolest band from America to play the festival". In 2011 they played 2 official showcases at SxSw in support of their "Summer Fling" EP released March 14th 2011. Their sophomore LP titled Strange Girls Don't Cry was released August 6th 2012, and one month later the band found themselves touring with the Jesus and Mary Chain to sold out crowds with both girls singing "Just Like Honey" on different nights of the tour. In the spring and summer of 2013 The Vandelles toured separately with The Warlocks, The Telescopes, and Ume. In September they decided to take a break from the road to begin work on their third album and followup to Strange Girls, but that break is over now! The Vandelles will tour South America in July 2014 and then head to Europe in the fall before dropping their new yet unnamed album. The sound of this album with be a cross between American Hardcore of the brutal late 80's Seattle scene, the Surf tones and styling of Link Wrey, and the vocal harmonies of Buddy Holly. Think early Raveonettes meets early Nirvana, and played by Dick Dale.
