Taking a more melodic approach to their 2009 debut You Can’t Hurt Steel. The Morning After have taken a turn for the better and are back with their amazing new album Legacy, an AOR tinged power metal album that also experiments with aspects of hair metal for good measure. Yes, it is as amazing as it sounds and will blow your mind as well as your ear drums. With lightning fast guitar riffs, high pitched vocal lines and songs that make you want to put on some spandex and party like it’s the 80’s, The Morning After show that even though they are still young, they can rock just as hard as the grownups, and do a hell of a better job too. There are so many amazing tracks on Legacy and there isn’t one moment on this killer record that won’t have you singing along like a mad man. Its radio friendly stadium rock at its very best and when tracks like ‘Into the Fire’, ‘America’ and ‘Powerdrive’ smash through your speakers; you will be baffled by why The Morning After are not as big as they should be. A fresh faced Van Halen meets Def Leppard with a 21st century kick to it – that’s how best to describe The Morning After’s sound and with Legacy they are becoming the kings of this much loved genre. Legacy is such a diverse album and when you listen carefully you can quite clearly pick out elements of: AOR, power metal, hair metal as well as the occasional hint of metalcore. It’s not easy to mix together so many genres in one song but The Morning After pulls it off beautifully, delivering a magical array of metal mastery in tracks like ‘Limit’, ‘The Witch Is on My Back’ and ‘Rest in Pieces’. Legacy is an album which has the wow factor, and it’s this variation in different musical styles, that will have you playing it over and over again!Musicians:
The guitar lines on this album are outstanding and really put the term shredding into a new dimension. Forget Dragonforce and Rhapsody of Fire, The Morning After are a band who can actually play their instruments and are some of the most talented musicians in the business. Remember, these are still young men who have only been out on the scene for a few years now and when songs like ‘Over the Wire’, ‘Stream of Stars’ and ‘Nightmare Planet’ sound so musically challenging and stimulating, you know that these guys are true rock stars. The 21st century has gained a great new band. The Morning After are everything you every wanted from a rock band and with raw energy, musical brilliance and some high pitched screams have smashed into the British heavy metal scene with full force.
