I think there are about 10 bands in metal in general who play music that you cannot help yourself but like. Solitude Aeturnus is definitely one of them! If you need a proof just listen to this one. There is one thing that I am absolutely sure. There are NO words that can describe this album! Well, when it comes to SA I am nothing but objective, but this is my all time favorite metal album. Why's that? The riffinh in this album just creates a whole school - how to combine DOOM with epic/heavy metal with a smouldering thrash touch, and create something that will mark the metal history for ever. How to sing in a way that reminds of religious chants with a hue that will make your eyes wet and your soul black forever. How to add keys that will make you shiver of excitement without being tiring and making the result too mellow. How to shut everyone who says DOOM is simple up. I dont know but this album simply gets me going every time I listen to it. It is always like the first time. There is no freaking way that I can hold my tears during that keyboard intro to "It came upon one night". And then bang my head like a beast with the BEST DOOM RIFF EVER! For those not knowing, "it came.." is the first SA song to be released, being the first in row inside their justice for all demo, without of course the intro and with a terrible singer ruining it. The most loved track of the album for me. The best is… ALL OF THE OTHERS! If you dont have it, go get it and put it next to MAIDEN and SABBATH because thats exactly where it belongs. The grade is nothing more than an obligation. I could never grade any SA album below 100/100. DOOMMusicians:
