During the first half of the 1970s, several West German musicians escaped the traditional rock influences of British and American bands and created a new way of making rock music. This movement—which involved psychedelic, electronic, jazz, folk, and noise music—came to be known as Krautrock. The Krautrock bands that pioneered this movement created something never heard before: They took the intense, untamed essence of the old gods of rock and roll and infused it with a true progressive and revolutionary spirit, spearheading the evolution of electronic, techno, ambient, minimalist, and avant-garde music.
KRAUTROCK 2 (2021) is the second film in the Krautrock Trilogy and the fifth film in the series on progressive rock “Romantic Warriors -A Progressive Music Saga.” KRAUTROCK 1 (2019) focuses on the bands from the Dusseldorf and Cologne region. KRAUTROCK 2 (2021) focuses on the bands from southern Germany.
