Shoot The Moon is Roger Street Friedman s reflection of life as an unpredictable and wondrous journey. The 13-song collection reveals an artist who has come into his own and created a boldly adventurous and masterful album. The songs on Shoot The Moon are steeped in alt-country, folk, blues and R&B; the album s ambiance recalling the work and sensibilities of songwriter/performers like Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Robbie Robertson, Bruce Hornsby, Don Henley and Paul Simon.

As with his debut album The Waiting Sky, Roger has joined forces with producer and #1 hit songwriter Felix McTeigue. The new album also finds Friedman filling the roles of recording engineer and co-producer, tasks he has embraced most wholeheartedly. Shoot The Moon was mixed by Paul Kolderie of Radiohead fame. Shoot The Moon contributors include Amy Helm (Levon s brilliantly gifted daughter), Multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby who has worked with the Grateful Dead s Phil Lesh as well as Susan Tedeschi, Olabelle s Fiona McBain, singer/songwriter Ari Hest, Antigone Rising s Nini Camps, Rich Hinman from Sarah Bareilles band and New West recording artists The Mastersons. There s also a songwriting cameo by NRBQ s legendary Big Al Anderson who co- penned Hideaway with Friedman and McTeigue. The album s tracks also feature some of the best horn players in the business including Jay Collins who tours with Gregg Allman, David Bowie and Rolling Stones veteran Mac Gollehon and Baron Raymonde who has been associated with artists ranging from Rod Stewart to Bruce Springsteen. The album slots nicely into both Americana and Triple A radio formats. Its title notwithstanding, Shoot The Moon is the result of the ongoing efforts of an artist whose music and approach are well grounded and exceptionally soulful.
