Fire Dance, the brand new album of Roby Lakatos and his Ensemble !
"FIRE DANCE" is an explosive mix of authentic Gypsy music with great themes from all around the world. With superb panache, Roby and his Ensemble offer some of their finest and most electrifying program. True gypsy traditionals like Ciflico, Divertimento or Hejre Kati are performed with the highest degree of energy, dedication and virtuosity. Lyrical moments like the Nocturne of June 11 (Cséki) or Papa can you hear me (Legrand) are full of tenderness, passion and delicacy.
With his famous arranger Kálman Cséki, Roby revisits the most beloved melodies with an exceptional talent and great musical flair. World music influences and rhythms are many. You will notice, for example, typical impressionistic French music, some Indian tabla, some mariachi guitars and even some Bossa Nova. Themes are coming from the French repertoire (Que reste-t-il de nos amours), American Jazz (Got a Match), Hollywood classics (Papa can you hear me) or even from Japan (Sakura).
On this record, Roby is once again supported by his legendary band: Lászlo Bóni, the group's second violinist, Ernest Bangó, the famous cimbalom player, Attila Rontó at the guitar and Oszkár Németh at the bass.
Together they deliver their most perfect recording ever committed on disc. The program, the energy and the ever-amazing virtuosity is unique.
"FIRE DANCE" is the first album Roby Lakatos and his Ensemble recorded for their new label avanticlassic. It was released in May 2005.
