2008 compilation of digitally remastered cuts from the English guitarist and Rock legend, often compared to Jimi Hendrix due to his bluesy Psychedelic style. He was originally a member of Procol Harum but soon left to pursue a solo career. Throughout the '70s, Trower was a staple on FM radio alongside many other great Classic Rock artists. Since his heyday, his output has not been as prolific, although he is still respected and revered by fans of Classic Rock and guitar heroes.
"Day of the Eagle" is one of the best hard rock songs of the 70's featuring the best Trower and then vocalist Jimmy Dewar had to offer. Most of the classic Trower tunes are included here in all of their glory. "Bridge of Sighs," "Daydream," "Gonna Be More suspicious," "Long Misty Days," "In City Dreams" and "Caravan to Midnight" are all great examples of Trower’s contribution to music. "Too Rolling Stoned," "Alethea" and "Rock Me Baby" are all presented with live versions, which is awesome because Trower shines stronger from the stage than the studio. Day of the Eagle also includes lesser known songs to educate those just discovering Trower, including "Man of the World," "Take a Fast Train," "About to Begin" and "The Ring." If you don’t own any Trower and want to discover what you have been missing then this is a great place to start.
