Renae Suttie - Renae Suttie Sings the Brian Ford Songbook, Vol. I (2018)

Brian Ford is an 18-month-old newbie to songwriting and has already been awarded medals from the Global Music Awards, the American Songwriting Awards and the UK Songwriting Contest 2017, for some of his works. He approached jazz singer Renae Suttie late last year to record over some of his digital recordings. Renae transmitted her enthusiasm to her band which has resulted in a live recording and culminating in this CD album. The album was recorded before a live audience at the Bison Bar in Nambour, Queensland and mixed/mastered by Matt Rosser of MaTrix Productions; artwork by Pfeifer Design; photography by Rich Events and makeup by Marcelle Makeup.

Renae & Brian have spent the last 6 months working on the scores to 14 of the songs so that professional musicians could “hit the ground running” during rehearsals.

Renae is the "girl with the perfect pitch". Her singing is backed by her quintet consisting of some of the finest musicians on the Sunshine Coast, in Australia: Marnix van Bruggen, piano; Andrew Suttie, tenor/soprano sax; Arron Bool, guitar; Brendan Scully, acoustic double-bass and Max Sportelli, drums. This eclectic collection of professionals has made Brian’s songs “come to life” in their first live performance to a paying audience at TRIOs Restaurant in the beautiful South Pacific Resort ballroom, Noosaville. The event was completely sold out.
