This grouping gathers together all versions of the "Live Killers" live-double, originally released in 1979 on vinyl and tape, as well as subsequent repressings and bootleg versions.
Officially, the entire back catalogue was re-issued for the first time on CD in 1986, and again on CD/tape in remastered form in 1991 for the US market (via Hollywood Records and usually adding a few non-album tracks or remixes not included on the original versions).
Parlophone also re-issued the remastered versions in 1993/1994, and subsequently several additional re-remastered versions (some in glorious 5.1 DTS) have appeared.
Footnote: A trimmed-down summary of this album was released in 1985 to co-incide with their 1984/1985 "Works" world tour. These should not be grouped here.

Live Killers is a double vinyl and compact disc live album by English rock band Queen. It was released on June 26, 1979.
It was recorded live during the European leg of Queen's Jazz world tour between January and March 1979. The album was self-produced by the band and was their first album to be mixed at their own studios, Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland. The Original Mastering was Done by George Marino
Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor revealed on the US radio show In the Studio with Redbeard (which spotlighted the making of 1980's The Game) that the band was not happy with the album's final mix as the band mixed the album themselves.
Despite May and Taylor's unhappiness with the album, Live Killers hit #16 on the US Billboard Pop Albums charts and was certified Double Platinum in the US.
In the territories outside of the United States, Europe and Canada, Elektra Records re-released a shorter, edited version of the album in 1985 titled "Queen Live".
The 1994 issue that was released as part of the Digital Master Series by EMI was not improved as the quality was bad. It was later Remastered and restored in better quality by Justin Shirley Smith in 2001
