The latest free CD from the April 2015 issue of MOJO Magazine is a reboot of Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti, featuring a slew of lesser known artists tackling the 1975 2LP behemoth. Almost all the interpretations are somewhat faithful to Zep’s arrangements, but some personality does manage to float to the surface. Son Little’s “Trampled Underfoot” is pretty good, sounding more ‘natural’ than the original, while Max Jury’s pleasing reading of “Down By The Seaside” is a winner, too. Sun Kil Moon is always worth your time, but “Kashmir,” despite its conceptual ingenuity, falls flat.~ willardswormholes
