In the Satie Jubilee Year, the Echo-Klassik-Prize-winner Olga Scheps succeeded in making a real coup. The highly praised Satie album captured the first place on the German classical charts. On her new album, the pianist, born in Russia and grown up in Cologne, presents Tchaikovsky's music, which is almost in her blood. She has recorded the famous first piano concerto with the WDR Symphony Orchestra under the young Spanish conductor Carlos Dominguez-Nieto. It complements this recording with solo works such as the popular Nutcracker Suite in the original and pianistically challenging adaptation for solo piano by Mikhail Pletnev as well as the famous "Chanson triste" and the months of October and November from the cycle "Die Jahreszeiten".
