Chicago is welcoming another piece of doom metal art for one of the most talented doom metal musicians on earth, Novembers Doom with their gloomy name is putting yet another album for all those who enjoy the real death doom metal music. After the wonderful atmosphere that these guys have created in the album Aphotic, here is another proof that the band have the ability to keep rolling on the same successful road with the new release Bled White.

You can actually hear the influences of this album ranging from the early My Dying Bride to the mid 90's Amorphis, and the great part is that the original compositions will hit these influences on your ears with blasts of modern production and fresh ideas. Though most extreme metal veterans lose the original touches with time, this group knows exactly how to keep the fabric of the music interesting for all the fans. Bled White contains of 10 tracks that run for more than 68 minutes, its an average doom death metal album length and its way longer than the previous album Aphotic that ran for about 50 minutes only. This is not that kind of a long metal album that have nothing but a droning and boring pace, and this album is recommended for all those who enjoyed the 90's era of doom death metal music and want to experience the same feelings with better mixing and production.

Its melodic and incredibly firm and heavy, these were my first comments about the album especially when I started the album with the single track Bled White. Tracks like Just Breathe, The Memory Room and The Silent Dark have the power make you lose the sense of time easily with their mighty songwriting, plus the production has been cooked by the hands of Dan Swanö, which makes it impossible to hate. Vito Marchese and Larry Roberts have presented one of their best guitars recording performance, the crashing rhythm and the deep lead guitar sounds are definitely addictive. I felt that Paul Kuhr has lost a lot of his growling depths, because his performance is really different from the previous release, but overall the vocal performance was great, though it could have been stronger and deeper. The album reminded me of Woods of Ypres in a very good way, and I imagine that many listeners will experience the same feeling.

Finally, I really enjoyed this album and I will be listening to this release more often in the future, especially when the winter knocks the doors. The sound of this album makes you feel like you're buried under the golden era of doom metal art, where all the elements of Turn Loose the Swans and Paradise Belongs to You can be heard with an aggressive production licks. This album is recommended to you if you lie on the atmospheric side of extreme metal map.
