Mississippi Shakedown, is an Australian blues rock band from Sydney, Australia, they play with a blues inspired sound that is heavily driven by slide guitar. The band takes a lot of influence from early southern blues musicians as can be seen from their debut self-titled album that features amongst other things an Elmore James record.
The band is fronted by well known Sydney studio owner Jeff Cripps along with Wayne Leffler, John Gannon and Derek Smith. Their music catalogue to date consists of four studio albums released since late 2006 and also a full length rarities release.
