Con questo Vol. I d'una Opera Omnia ancora in corso, arriviamo subito alla piena maturità dell'importante musicista finlandese, ma anche forse del Meta4, importante quartetto connazionale: direi che si son fatti un regalo reciproco con questa produzione, ovviamente Ondine.
Seppure resta per me sospeso il giudizio se queste possano essere delle interpretazioni di riferimento.
Da un lato, una Saariaho "da camera" con quanto di riduzione nel particolare strumentale, fraterno animoso ecc, ma nel gesto di sempre, prolungato, di vasto confine, finlandese alba o crepuscolo che sia, nel caratteristico percorso personalistico, volitivo quanto moderato naturalmente; fino all'impresa (a conclusione del programma un capolavoro d'annata), sì di cifra anche vagamente epica, del quartetto espanso (nel testo e la componente, pardon la computazione…, elettronica), già in quel del 1987, terzo e ultimo Jardin Secret approdato a quel suo più autoriale tratto vitalistico di geometrie in irresistibile giuoco metamorfico.
Dall'altro, un Meta4 di tocco ruvido materialista, senza né svenevolezze né diamantinità, più "shostakovich" che "americano", piuttosto …danese? estone? un legname di foreste salde perenni? Appena temperato dal pianismo "debussy" e l'elettronica rarefatta dei collaboratori, vivente la compositrice.
Nel dubbio, un CD bello importante.
