When I was growing up my dad played Martha Tilton records all the time; and I became quite fond of hearing her sing. She always had a terrific command of her repertoire; and whenever my dad would buy a new record by Martha I listened to that, too. She had a fine sense of timing; and her sophisticated phrasing always enhanced whatever she sang. She even did many duets with the likes of Curt Massey, Johnny Mercer and other great performers.
