The Esoteric Antenna label is pleased to announce the release of the excellent new album by the legendary group MAN.

"Reanimated Memories” is a collection of 11 crafted songs that clearly draw inspiration from Man’s past whilst also looking forward in creative terms. Recorded at Cowshed studios in London, the album features Martin Ace (vocals, bass guitar), Josh Ace (vocals, rhythm guitar), James Beck (vocals, lead guitar), Phil Ryan (vocals, piano, organ) and Rene Robrahn (drums) and a special guest appearance by famed pedal steel guitarist B.J.Cole on ‘The Ballad of Billy Lee’, ‘We Know’ and ‘One More Ride on the Waltzers’.

"Reanimated Memories” successfully covers every facet of Man’s musical character, from Phil Ryan’s extended piece ‘In Time’, to the reflective "God Delusion” by Josh Ace, to the album’s closing track ‘All the Birds’ written by Martin Ace.

Man’s first studio album in five years, "Reanimated Memories” a fine new addition to the recorded legacy of MAN.

An utterly pleasant affair by one of the most durable incarnations of the ever-changing Manband. Longest-serving member Martin Ace could first be seen with Man in 1968 on German TV cult programme "Beat Club", and apart from an occasional hiatus has been with the band for more than four decades. Pleased to say both his song writing skills and vocal style have vastly improved over the years: his songs "Got No Money in My Pocket" and "All the Birds" are true highlights. Keyboard magician Phil Ryan joined in 1972 and won everybody's hearts with masterpieces of Welsh wizardry such as "Never Say Nups to Nepalese" and "The Welsh Connection", leaving and rejoining the band ever since then in true Man fashion. Here he shines with the epic "In Time", which fans of Man's more psychedelic / progressive phase will love… and man, his piano playing on "ordinary Man" is so good!!

Josh Ace first played with the band in 2002 at The Canterbury Fayre, becoming a steady member nine years ago and here he delivers skillfully crafted and thoughtful songs such as "Events of Yesterday" and "God Delusion". Much praise must also go to their amazing guitarist James Beck who joined in 2009: his soloing is both dynamic and cunningly crafted, providing sprinkles of wire fire that have been sadly missed on Man albums since the days of the late great Micky Jones. Drummer Rene Robrahn is a bit low in the mix, which is a shame as his drumming is a lot more versatile than that of his predecessor, Mr Richards.

Having been together for five years now (a true record by Man standards) this band has become very tight. I'm glad they finally made it to the studio and what a brilliant and coherent album they have come up witj! A great production with a nicely balanced sound.
