Algunos niños coleccionan estampillas, tarjetas deportivas, canicas… Cuando niño ye coleccionaba discos de 78 RPM (revoluciones por minutos). Uno de los primeros que consegui estaba grabado solamente por una de sus caras, tenia la etiqueta rosa, en francés, con un nombre curioso: "Madame Tetrazzini". y cantaba: "La canción suiza del Eco", grabado en 1911. Al escucharlo me enamoré del sonido de una voz agudísima, ágil e ininteligible. Me di a la tarea de comprar todos los discos que pudiera encontrar de Madame Tetrazzini; tarea harto difícil a principios de los 80.
Some kids collect stamps, baseball cards, marbles… When I was a boy I collected 78 RPM records. One of the first I got was recorded only by one side. It has a pink label in french language with a strange name: "Madame Tetrazzini" and she sung: "Swiss echo song", recorded on 1911. When I heard it I fall in love with that voice, so high, so agile and absolutely not intelligible. I had a challenge then: to buy every record I could find of "Madame Tetrazzini". It was a hard job at the beginings of the 80's.
