Kiss - Thunderbolts And Lightning (2CD) (2014) {The Godfatherecords}
MP3 CBR 320kbps | RAR | 334 mb
Genre: hard rock

When Kiss released their Unmasked album in 1980, American audiences had too much of the make-up band. The solo albums from 1978 was overboard for some, a movie was too bizarre, bubble gum cards seemed foolish and at the time, the media felt they went disco with "I Was Made For Loving You", despite it becoming one of the band's biggest hit songs. The band decided not to tour the U.S., only doing one show in their hometown of New York City. They did go to Europe but they ended 1980 with their first tour of Australasia, which included two concerts in New Zealand. Thunderbolts And Lightning represents their last concert down under in New Zealand at the Western Springs Stadium in Auckland on 3 December, 1980. By the time this show happened, Peter Criss was no longer part of the band, replaced by new drummer Eric Carr, who shows how great he was during his drum solo in "God Of Thunder". This would also be the last Kiss show Ace Frehley performed in before he left the band, so hearing him sing along with Gene Simmons in "Cold Gin" comes off as an oddity, but one that should've happened more frequently. Disc two also features a portion of their show in Sydney on 22 November, 1980 that was later broadcast on Australian radio. The remaining nine tracks are called Alternate Alive! and features various performances from shows throughout 1975. The entire disc is sourced from soundboard recordings and sounds incredible, experiencing their 1980 performances has to be heard. Paul Stanley still says "FIREHOUSE! WOO! AAAH-YEAH!" but he can be forgiven. This set was released by The Godfatherecords.
