    Coming so quickly after the release of Multitude of Angels and being from the same time as Koln Concert, I initially thought that Keith and ECM were looking at releasing more of his treasure trove of a back catalogue. However, this is a recording from Hi-Hat and an explanatory note says "All our releases feature historical live FM recordings from the '60s, '70s and '80s and although the sound may not (despite extensive professional remastering) always be of the highest quality, we are sure that you will enjoy the musical experience of these wonderful performances". The release date was actually put back so it may be that there were some - er - discussions behind the scenes. Technically, this is very similar to a DVD recording of a concert in Umbria in 1974 and thus far removed from the high standards of ECM. Nevertheless, for fans of Keith this will be a welcome addition to the fold. I'm looking forward to further listenings although slightly daunted by the technical deficiencies. Definitely, some lovely moments.
