The Dreaming Gate is the heart of Inlakesh. Inspired by an encounter with the Nazca spider and the transformational power of masks, in rituals and daily life. The Gate is a time and space where the veil of personalty is left behind, as one embarks on a journey to the transpersonal wisdom of intention and timelessness. Two years in the making, The Dreaming Gate is a voyage of consciousness, a sonic offering to the great spirit of mystery. Featuring outstanding musicians playing a variety of acoustic instruments meticulously blended with location recordings and artifacts harvested in the jungles of Irian Jaya in the late 1980's. The Dreaming Gate is a beautiful and highly original body of sound.
I love the Dreaming Gate by Inlakesh. As a n00b to the world of aboriginal music, I wasn't sure about purchasing it at first when there was a didgeridoo display in Downtown Mill Avenue. But, I was a starving architecture student looking for some inspiration and the sounds being made by the live didgeridoo display and the vibrating shell instruments struck me and i decided to buy it. I have absolutely no regrets getting it and I listen to it whenever I need to think of something interesting to design for a school project, getting into the mood for sleep, meditation, spiritual trance. its definitely better than some of the singular wave and hypnotic videos on Youtube, or any of the terrible 'psytrance' you might be used to on Youtube. I say buy it, because this album will make your insides vibrate and bring you the answers to your questions, or your questions to the answers.Didgeridoo music is deep, vibrating madness that visits the very insides of your soul. Inlakesh brings a gutteral, visceral quality to Dreaming Gate. The Dreaming Gate was a perfect introduction for me to concert quality aboriginal music.Review by Isabel Chen, Amazon.com
