Go for the Throat is the tenth studio album recorded by the English rock band Humble Pie and the second with the new lineup including, guitarist and vocalist Steve Marriott, Drummer Jerry Shirley, American bassist Anthony "Sooty" Jones and vocalist and guitarist, Bobby Tench from The Jeff Beck Group. Marriott also brought in backing vocalists Marge Raymond, Dana Kral and Robin Beck, once again looking for a more authenthic and refined R&B sound and feel. Go For The Throat was released by Atco in 1981 and the new version of "Tin Soldier" reached #58 in the US single charts.

Bobby Tench (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Steve Marriot (vocals, guitar, keyboards, mouth harp); Anthony "Sooty" Jones (bass); Jerry Shirley (drums, percussion).The second (and, sadly, last) album by the reformed Humble Pie is business as usual. The band remains a brash, strutting boogie machine capable of shredding eardrums with the best of 'em.The new songs by frontman and exemplary blues shouter Steve Marriott continue to deal in Bad Company-style riffage, and as usual there are some interesting covers, in this case a radically slowed down "All Shook Up," and (more surprisingly) a note-perfect recreation of Marriott's Small Faces classic "Tin Soldier." There is also a nice example of Marriott's penchant for lifting lyrics from the blues and R&B classics he cut his teeth on, in this case "Driver," a John Lee Hooker-ish boogie tune that quotes liberally from Chuck Berry's "Let it Rock."
