With no less than piano legend Joachim Kühn as mentor and producer, Gerard Guse presents his first acoustic guitar solo album with a tasteful blend of melodic jazz with free elements. The album was based on a spontaneous idea in four recording sessions in Kühn's studio, a magical place in the middle of the Ibiza salt pans. In addition to free improvisations (Everywhere / Impro Lento / Speaking Tacheles / Up to the Clouds) and own compositions (No Action Required / 2nd Floor, Casa Nuestro / Just Did It / Sasha), Gerard Guse chose three other works from: Allotropes, Elements Different Forms Or Same is a composition of Ornette Coleman, which himself never published. Joachim Kühn had the notes from the time he played with Coleman, and Gerard was enthusiastic about the melodic power of the composition.
A random find on the Internet brought Guse to Gurdjieff No. 40; since then he has been obsessed with this play and is now playing it in his own version. With Because Of Mouloud is a title from the pen of Joachim Kühn to be found on this album, which otherwise acted in the background. A further, no less important part is added to this recording Ottilie. Ottilie is the exact replica of an old guitar that once belonged to Gerard Guse's grandmother and inspired him to play acoustic guitar.
