Duo Cassadó - Rojo (2017)

Getting "up" to the audience of their seats is the goal of Dúo Cassadó, formed by the pianist Marta Moll de Alba and the cellist Damián Martínez Marco, who present today their new album, "Rojo", in which they combine the "beauty" of classical Spanish music and that of Russia.

Since Dúo Cassadó began his artistic career in 2000, the evolution of its members has been constant because, according to Efe Martínez, there is a remarkable growth between his first work - "Rhapsody of the South" - and the one that today they present in the capital.

"At the interpretive level we have been growing in nuances, in precision, in the way of thinking, in spontaneity, in improvisation and in understanding," says the cellist on "Rojo", his second work, which goes on sale tomorrow.

The album includes a "very important" piece that had never been recorded before: the "Fantasia Española" by composer Ernesto Halffter, written in 1953 and dedicated to the cellist and composer Gaspar Cassadó. The record work also includes some little known works of Russian composers who have wanted to rescue, such as Yuri Shaporin and Nikolai Miaskovsky.
