Deon Estus (born Jeffery Deon Estus, 1956, Detroit, Michigan) is an American bassist and singer, best known as the bass player of Wham! and as George Michael's bassist on the latter's first two subsequent solo projects. In 1989, Estus released a solo album entitled "Spell", produced by Colin Campsie & George McFarlane. The album contained the hit single "Heaven Help Me", which featured background vocals by George Michael, and reached #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1989.

George Michael's former bassist didn't do as well as either he or the label thought when he went solo. There's plenty of good music on this one, both rock and soul, and Estus proved a much better and more soulful vocalist than expected. But despite plenty of hype, the album sank quickly.
