With smooth vocal texture, and lyrics that inspire, there’s little, if any, denying that Dayna Caddell is one to watch.
As a Grammy® and Dove award nominated songwriter, for the release of “Every Prayer,” featuring Israel Houghton and Mary Mary, and co-writer for Ricardo Sanchez’s “Power of the Cross,” and Dave Hollister's, "Wish You Well," she’s built a reputation as a mainstay in the music industry.
Her upcoming project, PUSH–a collection of creatively cohesive songs that encapsulate the album's theme of inspirational-driven tunes, has collaborations with Israel Houghton on the powerful “So Grateful,” Eric Dawkins with the soul-stirring “Overjoyed,” and Vann Clayton with the upbeat favorites “Adore” and “Crazy,” –is a long-awaited studio effort poised to take its rightful place as one of the top urban inspirational albums of the year.
Sharing the stage, at the Stellar Awards, with CeCe Winans, J. Moss, Donnie McClurkin, Shirley Caesar, Jessica Reedy and other awesome talents, where they performed the Haiti Relief Song,—“A Tribute to Kirk Franklin, ”she also shared the mic with David & Tamela Mann as a presenter.
She had the opportunity to study under and perform with, the incredible legendary Nancy Wilson who commented, “This lady has the most interesting sound. It’s like no other. She appears to be comfortable doing what she does. She’s incredible.”
As a teen, she had the pleasure of being accompanied by the late great organist Johnny “Hammond” Smith who continuously encouraged her to pursue her dream.
After completing an R&B demo, the Holy Spirit continuously tugged at Dayna for several years until she realized that singing for the Lord was her heart's desire.
Her versatility afforded her the opportunity to record background vocals for Diana Ross for a Super Bowl celebration and appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno singing background for pop artist Bisou Phillips.
As a newcomer to the faith-based music industry her first single, Everyday (He’s Good), went to the top of the playlist charts in Germany expanding the exceptional singer and songwriter’s sound abroad.
In addition, she landed a song in the Tyler Perry film The Family That Preys and was selected as a finalist in the Session-l John Lennon Songwriting contest.
And although singing and songwriting are her first loves, her talents extend in areas where her creativity is constantly challenged. She is the owner of Two2tango works, an interior design firm whose work is constantly featured on We TV’s reality show, Mary Mary.
She also worked in set design collaborating on the hit sitcoms the Martin Lawrence Show and Everybody Loves Raymond.
