Live from The Berkeley Square until approximately 1:00 a.m., when the fire department shut down the show. (There is still speculation as to whether it was the overcrowded conditions or Gatton's incendiary guitar playing that brought on the fire chief that evening). Club owner Victor Ratto can be heard on tape breaking the news to Robert Gordon that he would be allowed one final song. The band closed with, appropriately enough, a frenetic version of "Red Hot".
The music was recorded from the soundboard by the astonished house engineer. He had no idea who the guitarist was. He first heard the band during soundcheck and made sure to record the evening’s performance. The recording is of the group’s fourth gig together. Audio cassettes of this Berkeley, California show were boot-legged and passed around via the underground for years. In 1995, the tape was finally released on CD as 'The Humbler'. Be prepared to be blown away by the late, great Danny Gatton.
