Biography:
Frasca's distinctive, gutsy, heart-felt vocal style is of uncommon strength, maybe it came down the line of blood from a relative of hers, famous Opera Singer, DAME NELLIE MELBA (who appears on the AUS $100 note). Her chunky slide guitar grooves are earning her respect from fellow musicians and been wowing crowds all over Australia. In just 3 years she has achieved more than most musicians could hope for in a lifetime. Stepping in the shoes of legendary Australian rock singer, Peter Garrett, Dallas has fronted Midnight Oil and Violent Femme's bass player, Brian Ritchie as well as touring the Australian country with Xavier Rudd.
Dallas comes from a background of singing with roots bands. She moved away from home and begun singing at the Saphire Coast town of Pambula, N.S.W, with some friends jamming. Re-locating back to her stomping ground, Wangaratta, NE Victoria, she worked rotating day/night 12 hour shifts as a Laboratory Technician for nearly 6 years on and off. In almost solitary confinement for the 12 hours, she learned to sing by listening to vocalists on the small transistor radio in the lab.
By the summer of December 2005, Dallas had only been playing slide guitar for 11 months and when she recorded her debut solo EP, Acoustic Slide Groove she had no idea it would lead to being the winner of Triple J's, 'Light Your Fuse' competition, play almost every major festival in the country, widespread radio play around the world, two songs hitting #1 on MP3.com, have well over 500 gigs under her belt or especially enjoy the blast this ambitious woman has had achieving these goals.

Review: When she plays live Dallas Frasca’s robust, muscular vocals, chunky riffs and wild stage presence command rapt attention. On her excellent album Not For Love Or Money it is clear that Frasca’s high-energy approach to hard-edged roots rock has translated well from the live environment to the confines of the studio. Which, as it stands, is more than a lot of other acts can boast.
At the ragged end of an energy sapping day, your humble writer slapped this disc into the car stereo and received the sonic equivalent of an adrenalin shot, as Frasca successfully blew the mid-week cobwebs to smithereens. Her vocals are so reassuringly huge and unrestrained that it’s hard to resist singing along.
Highlights of this sterling album include: the tasty lead guitar work on opening salvo Leave Me Alone; the headbang-inducing riffology and sensuous grunts that characterise the incendiary I Like You Better When You’re Straight; the way she holds the notes like an old-school metal guru on Thank You For Making Me Who I Am;<./i> and, the primal, foot-stompin’ rhythm of the swampy Burnt Toast.
