Curt Smith (born 24 June 1961) is an English singer, songwriter, musician and founding member of the pop rock band Tears for Fears. Smith was the initial lead singer and frontman for Tears for Fears, roles he has come to share with fellow member and childhood friend Roland Orzabal, after leaving the band for almost a decade due to Orzabal's increasing dominance over the band. As well as playing bass guitar and keyboards, Smith sang the lead vocals on Tears for Fears hits such as "Mad World", "Pale Shelter", "Change", "The Way You Are" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".
After his departure from Tears for Fears in 1991, Smith pursued a solo career and released his debut album Soul on Board in 1993. In total, he has released five studio albums and one EP…~ wiki
This CD may not look like much but it's a song from Curt Smith's debut album, Soul on Board and to me, it's a great song from a great album. In this CD, there are two versions of Calling Out. The first version is the single version that used to be played on the radio and I do wonder why the radio people took it off after the album came out considering that this song (as I said on the review of Soul on Board) brings out so many points the world needs to know about such as the line "I've got this vision in my mind, a prayer of peace I hope to find." And also, in my opinion, it would be nice if we could hear Curt Smith on the radio more often. The second song called Deal is cool and should have been a hit. I love the way Curt says; "You've got to deal with it, baby" and his voice is just so cool. The third song How Does It Feel is romantic and sounds like the song a girl should hear with her boyfriend/spouse just to feel better after a hard day or when she feels down. Beautiful song. The last song is an unplugged version of Calling Out which although I am not that fond of unplugged songs, it still has a way of sounding nice. Although the two songs Deal and How Does It Feel did not make it into the Soul on Board album, that doesn't mean they're not bad songs or that this is a bad CD. If you are a fan of Curt Smith, then go get this single CD and enjoy it because these songs are nice and deserve to be heard.by Karla Amaya, amazon
