2009 solo album from The Zombies vocalist, released 13 years after its conception. Produced by Jon Sweet with multi-award-winning writer and arranger Chris Gunning. Nobody sings like Colin Blunstone, the mild-mannered man from St Albans who became one of Britain's most respected and popular vocalists. Lead singer with The Zombies, his distinctive voice (described by Clash Magazine as 'wispy wonderfulness') manages to be both sweetly angelic and deceptively strong and was a key element of the band's sound.

This album showcases two distinct sides of the Zombies singer. Cuts 1 - 4 are Pop/Rock and tracks 5 - 10 feature the accompaniment of a string quartet - no drums, no guitars or even piano. The result is gripping, majestic and satisfying; leaves you wanting to hear more, not wearing your head out with filler.

The proceedings begin with the title track, a brilliant ballad of lost love that is both eerie and weary, and hauntingly beautiful. The mid - tempo second cut "Follow" begs to be a single, and has a touch of Alan Parsons Project influence. It's got a great hook chorus. The gentle but spirited "Dance With Life" has a positive message written by Bernie Taupin, and the piano based "Second Avenue" rounds out the first section with a story about getting a fresh start on life after love lost.

Now for the other half - classical quartet and vocal performances, beginning with a remake (originally from the artists' 1974 album 'Journey') of "Beginning/Keep The Curtains Closed Today". Colin really transports the listener to another place; a place cut - off from the world with a lover; 'and never never say goodbye' sings Blunstone. "Any Other Way" is a stand-out, up - tempo strings accent. It is of interest to note that the final 6 compositions are Blunstone originals. "Now I Know I'll Never Get Over You" works well with the sparse string arrangement, as does "Feels like Rain" as if these songs were written with that sort of production treatment in mind, not some guitar ridden torch song forced into a square hole. "Love Left A Long Time Ago" is delivered with such conviction, and yet is never over - sung, as so much music is these days. "The Sun Will Rise Again" reminds us there's always tomorrow, if things just don't work out today; 'love has a price, and everyone has to pay' - sadly true isn't it.
