The history of Chicago Blues there have been a number of stars. Men like Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter and Magic Sam made Chicago Blues what it is today. But these men didn't do it alone. There were friends and sidemen whose names rarely made it to wax that were there at the genesis of modern Chicago Blues. Men like Floyd Jones, whose "Stockyard Blues" is thought of by many as the first postwar Chicago Blues recording, and
Dave Myers, who propelled the harp playing of Little Walter and Junior Wells into blues history. Or Willie Johnson, who electrified the early works of Howlin' Woll, and Mac Thompson, who grounded the explosive sounds of Magic Sam. Most oi these men never got their due.

Their solo recordings were often on little labels and sold poorly forcing most to have to work a day job their entire life. Some have found a new following in the rekindling of interest in the blues over the last five years, but sadly for most of these men it was too little too late. These recordings stand as some of the very few that these Chicago Blues legends ever recorded.
