Argentinian composer, conductor and scholar Alicia Terzian takes an incredible journey into the heart of the string orchestra on Off the Edge with four works that introduce her captivating perspective, given an enchanting treatment here by Vladimir Lande and the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra. Off the Edge showcases numerous audacious textures involving the string orchestra, with different percussion instruments, chorus, soloists and voice. These pieces come from three of the four periods Terzian identifies in her compositional career, spanning 1954 to 2003, spotlighting the transformation of her style from her earliest to her more recent musical focuses.
