The sixth official work of Twenty Four Hours, historical italian psycho-progressive band is a double album intentionally inspired in the form and substance of the four most important white albums in the history of rock. Closer of Joy Division, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway of Genesis, The Beatles (White Album), The Wall of Pink Floyd, Unlike the much appreciated previous Left-To-Live, it is not a concept album, but a collection of songs that embraces many stages of the band’s creative life, including ambient veins (Intertwined), progressive with a long suite inspired by Supper’s Ready of Genesis (Supper’s Rotten) where profound mutation of values is exasperated, compared to those of the past, rock (The Tale Of The Holy Frog) and punk ones (77). In this last song that opens the album you meet aggressive punk atmospheres with echoes of King Crimson, and a spectacular final battle without exclusion of shots between the Hammond organ and hendrixian guitar (!).
But the most suprising feature is represented by the collaboration with Tuxedomoon.
The multi-instrumentalists Blaine Reininger and Steven Brown actively collaborate in two pieces of the album the aforementionend Intertwined and All The World Needs Is Love, respectively with the voice and violin (Blaine) and Sax (Steven).
Almost wanting to seal the precious cooperation with the belgian-californian band, Twenty Four Hours give us two personalized versions of what is perhaps the most rapresentative and popular song of Tuxedomoon: What Use. The first electronic version follows yet another cover of the unreleased pinkfloydian Embryo in a strikingly dreamy medley, while an acoustic version with an explosive double bass drum closes the album.
Remains to be mentioned Adrian, the video-single published on Youtube the last 25th of june, with the complete band, strong of the presence of the vocalist Elena Alethia Lippe, already present on Left-To-Live, but which on this occasion has been entrusted a very consistent role as “Lead Vocalist”, on the songs All The World Needs is Love, She’s Our Sister (The death is our sister) and The Tale Of Holy Frog.
Adrian was dedicated to the memory of Adrian Borland, brilliant composer, guitarist and singer of one of the most influential and unlucky bands of the eighties, the Sound.
Like all the records of Twenty Four Hours, Close – Lamb – White – Walls was born as a live-in-studio session during free compositions and improvisations at “Casa della Musica” (Fab Lab) of Fano during Easter 2017, to end at Preganziol (Treviso) in the now familiar Magister Recording Area of Andrea Valfrè, producer together with Paolo Lippe of this last work.
Andrea Valfrè has mixed the whole work on an analogue equipment (Soundcraft 3200), while Marco Lincetto has mastered it, always on analogue domain (Millenia Media and Maselec).
The double album will be released on the 25th of october 2018, both for:
