This post is the 14th part of the DOREMI' ongoing series of Sviatoslav Richter's recitals. This two-disc set features performances that haven't been published before (at least I couldn't find any trace of them). Richter and the excellent Moscow Chamber Orchestra recorded five of Mozart's piano concertos and - on the second cd - there is also a recording of the K545 Sonata in C major from 1989.
I think that this is one of the greatest performance of Mozart's piano concertos. The duo of Richter and Barshai is amazing. As usual all tempi, phrasing, intonation are ideal. And I like these live recordings despite some coughing in public, some technical defects, etc. This is a highly recommended album.Sviatoslav Richter Archives, vol.14
