It's four years since their last studio album and the Peawees are back with Leave It Behind; 11 tracks rooted in 60's soul and a sonic testament to the band's true passion for the sound of the past. With high quality songwriting, refined melodies, and elegant arrangements typical of Sixties girl groups (Shirelles, Shangri-Las, Ronettes…), Leave It Behind proves the Peawees are not restrained by nostalgia, but a current and modern band. Active since 1995, with four albums under their belt and hundreds of concerts performed, not only in Italy but across Europe and the U.S, with Leave It Behind the Peawees have developed the punk sound for which they became well-known and appreciated worldwide and taken it to a place where it knows no boundaries, though nonetheless maintaining their original attitude. In this album the band take us on an ideal road-trip through rock and roll history, from Chuck Berry and Otis Redding's America to The Clash-era Britain portrayed in London Calling. Though the Beatles inevitably mark the north on the Peawees' inspirational compass, other strong points of reference for the band are the voices and musicians of sixties' Black America soul and R&B labels: Motown, Stax and Chess Records.
