There are artists whose only name sums up a whole musical genre and Patrick Molard is one of them. He is recognized worldwide in the world of "Ceòl Mòr" (translating "Great Music"), which he has been studying for about forty years. This Great Music from the Highlands of Scotland carries with it the memory of a world. More than a musical genre, it is a form of poetry, with notes rather than words, which depicts the universe of ancient clans. Light and Shade. Shadow and light.Tracklist:
For centuries, these masterpieces of writing have been performed by the bagpipes and only this instrument. Patrick Molard presents today a new creation in the history of this music, he constitutes an orchestra to the measure of the project. Obviously his brother Jacky (violin) who signs the arrangements, Hélène Labarrière (double bass), Yannick Jory (saxophone), Simon Goubert (drums) and Eric Daniel (guitar). From a chosen repertoire from the 17th and 18th centuries, the entire orchestra - a kind of sheep with five legs - makes the pibroc’h rumble in new music. Telescoping is sonic and imaginary.
