A trio, featuring brothers Antonio Carmona and Juan Miguel Carmona and their cousin, Juan Carmona, Ketama is one of the leading groups of the "new flamenco" movement.
They released many popular albums that have crossed over to gain mainstream success outside the flamenco area. Their music can best be described as a mix between flamenco, rumba, salsa, brazilian music and mainstream pop. The band broke up in 2004 with the release of their final album 20 pa' Ketama after a twenty year career.
This record is a tribute to Ray Heredia, a founding member of the group, who died: the record's title "Pa' gente con Alma" (For people with Soul) is the title of one of the tracks that are included, a ballad that is performed with a solitary electric guitar, and which is dedicated to Ray.
In this record Ketama enjoyed the cooperation of Michel Camilo, who contributed his piano playing in the record's only instrumental bulería track. José el Francés also participated in this record, singing the choruses.
