A trio, featuring brothers Antonio Carmona and Juan Miguel Carmona and their cousin, Juan Carmona, Ketama is one of the leading groups of the "new flamenco" movement.
They released many popular albums that have crossed over to gain mainstream success outside the flamenco area. Their music can best be described as a mix between flamenco, rumba, salsa, brazilian music and mainstream pop. The band broke up in 2004 with the release of their final album 20 pa' Ketama after a twenty year career.
Once again without musical frontiers, this time Ketama tackle rap, hip-hop and house, which go alongside their usual salsa-flamenco-pop sound. Ballads represent an essential part of the record, possibly as a complement to the flamenco party that is captured on the video that is included. The images are from an authentic gypsy gathering in which the Habichuela clan and their best friends break into bulerías, tangos and other palos (forms).
