This is exactly what you would expect from a DG, Karajan and Mutter collaboration. The quality and dynmiicism here and the orchestra follows with all that is good with Karajan and with that which a few don`t like. If you like these artists then they are all as you might expect. The recording quality is good and I was very impressed overall with Mutter and Karajan both of which I found were felt in great presence on this recording. Delightful really. Karajan is superb throughout. And Mutters style and brilliance fizzes throughout. A very enjoyable disc. No weaknesses really at all and a rich sounding cd without being overly sentimental. All in all it worked out pretty good. SOme solid versions and some thoughtful interpretations maintaining quality throughout and some hidden delights."
