Diana Horta Popoff - Amor de Verdade (2018)

Diana Horta Popoff is brazilian, the daughter of flutist Lena Horta and bassist and composer Yuri Popoff, and the niece of worldwide known guitarist and composer Toninho Horta. Diana started out playing the flute at age 9, and got the national prize from the Rio conservatory in 2003. At 23, she became a flute teacher at the Brazilian conservatory of music and at the Baden Powell school of music in Rio. As she was studying the flute, Diana was also getting interested in piano, composition and singing. She recorded her first album, "Algum Lugar", on Brazilian label Delira Musica in 2013. The album was produced by Marcio Lomiranda, who has worked with Milton Nascimiento and Ivan Lins, among others.

In 2013, Diana got married to French jazz upright bass player Mathias Allamane, and decided to move to Paris. After arriving in France, she got her Master's at the Sorbonne university in 2013. In 2015, she became a flute teacher in the City of Paris' recreation centers, and in 2016 she started teaching at the Koenig School - American Conservatory of Music in Paris. She recorded the Rio/Paris album with Nathalie Desay, then, in December 2015, was invited by Nathalie Desay and Laurent Naouri to play a concert in support of hope at the Champs Elysées theatre in Paris. She has played shows with her different projects in many festivals: ChartrEstivales, Festival de Bossa Nova de Thias, the Chorus in Lausanne, the Théatre de Rueil Malmaison…

Diana will release her new album in 2018 on Bonsaï Music.
