In the 20-year anniversary of its formation, German thrash metal band Dew-Scented return with a new line-up and their ninth studio album Icarus. One of the established European heavyweights of the genre, the new release shows the band has lost none of its hunger or ability to create thunderous and impressive sounds.
Overall “Icarus” is an effort from a band that really is in tip top form. Everything about “Icarus” is well executed, from the vocals to the riffing, the drumming, and the overall feel of the album was breathtaking. Dew Scented is one band that restores my faith in a revival that suffers from over population, stagnation, and mediocrity, and raises the bar very high. This is an example to all modern thrash bands everywhere.
