Born in Munich, Christina Landshamer studied at the city’s Hochschule für Musik und Theater under Angelica Vogel, and subsequently in Konrad Richter’s lied class and Dunja Vejzović’s soloist class at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. After making her debut as Ännchen at the Semperoper under Christian Thielemann, she began the current season in the same role in a concert performance with German broadcaster NDR’s Symphony Orchestra under Thomas Hengelbrock, and will make her American debut at the end of 2015 with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as a soloist in Händel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Coronation Mass under Manfred Honeck. Later, she will be guesting at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, debuting as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier in February 2016. Christina Landshamer can also be seen in New York in early 2016; performing with the Ensemble Midtvest at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, before making her first appearance with the New York Philharmonic and Alan Gilbert the following season. She is currently performing in Munich, Nuremberg and Ingolstadt under Peter Dijkstra with the choir from another German broadcaster, Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR). A CD is in the making. Further concerts are to follow, taking her to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Fauré’s Requiem under Stéphane Denève, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the Orchestre de Paris under Daniel Harding, including a performance at the Louvre, and a tour of Mozart arias with the Freiburger Barockorchester. Her first CD of songs will appear this season on the Oehms label, performing works from Schumann and Ullmann with Gerold Huber, with whom she will also be guesting, alongside the tenor Maximilian Schmidt, at the Schubertíade in summer 2016.
