Nautilus was a Swiss Band, that combined the talents of Urs Lerch on bass, Dieter Ruf on guitars, Peter Fibich on drums, Ralph Stucki on keyboards, and Christian Bauer on guitars. Ruf, Stucki, and Bauer all contributed to the vocals. They only released two albums (1978's "20,000 Miles Under the Sea" and 1980's "Space Storm"), and not much is actually known about them.
Space Storm is abruptly performed and gravely recorded and the vocals are, well, rough. It's one of those records so late to the party (and without any wine) that no one cared.

Grateful Dead, live from Northrop Auditorium, University of Minnesota, Minnesota, MN October 19th 1971.
Combining psychedelia with their chilled style, as heard on 1970's Workingman's Dead and American Beauty, 1971 saw the Dead at their greatest live, performing a huge number of fine sets with extraordinary length. This live concert, from the University of Minnesota's Northrop Auditorium on October 19th that year - broadcast on KQRS-FM radio - was no exception and saw them rip through material from the length of their career up to that point, much of which had not featured on studio albums. Presented here in its entirety, accompanied with background notes and archival imagery.

Pianist Ray Bryant remained very popular among Japanese jazz fans in the later stages of his career, and he made quite a few important albums for Japanese labels. Play The Blues, recorded in 1999 for M&I, is one of them. It's a collection of great blues performances and includes the past hit tunes made famous by Bryant such as "Gotta Travel On" and "Slow Freight." Backed by a superb rhythm section (Ray Drummond and Kenny Washington), Bryant shines with his expression of deep blues feeling and the unique style that fully utilizes both hands. Hugh McCracken, the famous studio musician who just passed away on March 28, 2013, plays harmonica on several tunes.

The great musical border crosser of the twentieth century, George Gershwin excelled in the fields of concert music and popular song alike. The son of Jewish immigrants from Russia, he was born Jacob Gershvin in Brooklyn on September 26, 1898. His father ran a great variety of small businesses, and George, in the words of the New Grove Dictionary of Music, "excelled at street sports." He also studied the piano and was introduced to the European classics by his teacher, Charles Hambitzer. Gershwin immersed himself in popular music after dropping out of school in 1914 and getting a job as a salesman for the music publisher Remick. He was influenced by ragtime and stride piano music, and as a songwriter enjoyed his first hit in 1920 with "Swanee," recorded by the leading vocalist of the time, Al Jolson.

Surfin' U.S.A. is the second album by American rock band the Beach Boys. It reached number two in the US, lasting 78 weeks on the albums chart, eventually being certified gold by the RIAA, and brought the group newfound national success. Like the group's debut album, production was credited ostensibly to Capitol's representative for Artists and Repertoire, Nick Venet, although bandleader Brian Wilson was heavily involved in the album's composition. The album marks the beginning of his practice to doubletrack vocals, resulting in a fuller sound.
