Postcards from Texas captures the country siren’s freewheeling, funny, at times feisty take on swing, shuffles, bluegrass and ballads with unbridled gusto. Co-produced with Jon Randall, Postcards delivers Lambert’s glorious, wild Lone Star freedom.

Beethoven’s Sonatas for Piano and Cello, Op. 5 are revolutionary works, with neither instrument subservient and the piano fully independent. This release also features his vivacious variations on ‘Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen’ and ‘Bei Männern, welche Liebe fu¨hlen’ from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Volume 2 is scheduled for release on 8.574530 in November.

Haydn’s creative imagination was stimulated by eminent Italian composers such as Porpora and Scarlatti and by his contemporary C.P.E. Bach, whose piano sonatas Haydn had performed. Through Georg Wagenseil, an important figure in Viennese music for the piano, he also absorbed a new sense of musical form. Together, these influences generated Haydn’s own individual language, as shown in the Sonata in C major with its elegance and wit. The Andante con variazioni in F minor shows further refinement and development in the composer’s command of variation form. Alexandra Ivanova performs on fortepianos from Haydn’s era.

Sony Classical is proud to present ‘Dvorák: Cello Concerto’ by OPUS Klassik award- winning cellist Raphaela Gromes, released on September 13 th on CD. Following the tremendous success of her album "Femmes" (2023), Raphaela Gromes releases a new album, "Dvorák: Cello Concerto", featuring one of the most renowned cello concertos alongside inspiring and moving pieces by Ukrainian composers. It was inspired by Gromes' visit to Kyiv in December 2023, where she performed the Dvorák Concerto with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and its chief conductor Volodymyr Sirenko, to show solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

The passion that is the root of Stella Almondo’s character permeates this first studio recording. Born in Monaco in 2006, a disciple of Amédée Briggen in Nice, then of Igor Lazko in Paris, Stella Almondo proclaims here her unconditional love of music, an art that she perceives as the quintessence of love and which allows her to explore in depth, as she did from a very young age, the bewildering diversity of emotions and human experiences. Throughout this recital, Stella Almondo delights in the most lyrical moments, her crystalline sound radiating in majestically deployed phrases.

Tsotne Zedginidze is a descendant of Niko Sulkhanishvili, considered one of the greatest Georgian composers of all time, and a renowned pedagogue. Recording on our joint label Verbier Festival Gold, the prodigious talent Tsotne Zedginidze, born in 2009, releases the full recording of his debut at the Verbier Festival in 2022. He is not only a virtuosic pianist, but also a composer and has been heralded by some great musicians such as Daniel Barenboim and Giya Kancheli as one of the most exceptionally gifted musicians of the century. The album contains works by Debussy, Schoenberg and Bartók as well as two original compositions by the artist himself.

Recorded on tour between February 2022 through December 2023 in America, UK, Europe and Australia, Live Drugs Again follows 2020’s Live Drugs and represents The War On Drugs at their ragged, righteous best. Like generations of her ancestors who have lived along Virginia's coast, she, too, has weathered life's hurricanes and battering winds - and witnessed it's luminous beauty - and she wanted to capture that juxtaposition on this record.

Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points has announced his new album Cascade will be released on 13 September via Ninja Tune. Along with the announcement Shepherd has shared lead single 'Key103' which comes with visuals continuing his ongoing collaboration with Tokyo based artist Akiko Nakayama.

Paradise Cinema is a project led by multi-instrumentalist Jack Wyllie (Portico Quartet/Szun Waves) with contributions from Khadim Mbaye, Tons Sambe and Laurence Pike. The first, eponymous, Paradise Cinema record, released in 2020, was recorded in Dakar and featured the dense rhythms of Mbalax music combining with Wyllie’s textural saxophone and synth playing.

Live Wire/Blues Power is a live album from Albert King recorded in 1968 at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, CA. Featuring originals and King’s rendition of classics, the album demonstrates Albert King’s blues prowess. According to Rolling Stone, this album is “Just the unadulterated pure and simple blues.

Last Night Blues is Lightnin’ Hopkins’ 1961 album, featuring Sonny Terry. The second of three album collaborations, Last Night Blues showcases Hopkins’ and Terry’s different yet complementary styles to create a well-rounded listening experience. AllMusic declared, “this dynamite disc represents what the blues should be: stripped-down, soulful, and full of truth.” This edition has been remastered from the original tapes.

The Saint of the Pit, Diamanda Galás’ fifth studio album and the second in her trilogy, The Masque of the Red Death, is an urgent record. Its theme is essentially passion, in the sense of suffering, although here, and unlike the passion of Christianity, there is little to offer solace. Re-released on Galás’ own Intravenal Sound Operations (ISO) after its initial release on Mute in November 1986, The Saint and the Pit is a masterpiece of witnessing, forged from grief and fury during the HIV-AIDS epidemic. While its precursor, The Divine Punishment (originally Mute, now ISO), released only five months before in June 1986, invoked Old Testament laws around the clean and the unclean, as a way of raging against the inhumanity of systemic neglect of people with HIV-AIDS, this album is focussed on a more interior response.
