Vor bald 35 Jahren hinterließ der Vollblutmusiker und Songwriter einen Aphorismus von bleibendem Wert: „Verdammt, ich lieb' dich“. Liedzeilen, die aus einer Laune heraus entstanden, formte der damals 32 Jahre junge Mann zu einem Mammut-Refrain, der zu einem Millionenseller gelangte. Er hat rund zwei Dutzend Studioeinspielungen veröffentlicht, etliche davon brachen in Gold- und Platin gegossen Verkaufsrekorde. Auf dem neuen Longplayer „Zeppelin“ präsentiert Reim seine 16 neuen Songs so frühlingsfrisch und auf den Punkt gebracht wie ein tatendrängender Newcomer. Einer, der sich gleichzeitig eines enormen Musikmacher- und Lebenserfahrungsschatzes ermächtigen kann. Anders lässt sich die gesteigerte Wahrhaftigkeit in „Zeppelin“ nicht erklären. It was back in 2019 when Alice Cooper went back to his musical roots. The iconic singer recorded six songs that are all in a way connected to his hometown Detroit. The album includes cover versions from the 60s and 70s and it is ‘East Side Story’, originally from Bob Seeger, ‘Sister Anne’ (MC5) and other classics. And there is with ‘Detroit City 2020’ a flashback to the ‘The Eyes of Alice Cooper’ release.‘Breadcrumbs’ was released as a limited 10” vinyl version and now it is earMUSIC, releasing the album in a CD format. All six songs from the original release are also part of the CD version and fans get tow extras too. With ‘Don’t Give Up’, Alice Cooper added a bonus track to this release and ‘Go Man Go’ has been added as a live version also, recorded at the 2022 Hellfest. Release date for the D format is April 26th, 2024 and the album will come via earMUSIC.

b. Eddy Conrad, 1959, Gary, Indiana, USA. Conrad grew up in Indiana obsessed by the sound of Isaac Hayes’ ‘Theme From Shaft’. The first record he ever purchased, Conrad would spend his pocket money continually attending reruns of the film at local cinemas. ‘As a kid you always have heroes but with John Shaft [the film’s protagonist] it was serious. He had that certain macho feeling that every kid wishes he had too.’ In 1985 he fulfilled a long-held ambition by re-recording the track, which became a number 13 UK chart hit. It might well have charted higher had another version of ‘Theme From Shaft’ by Van Twist not been released at the same time. Afterwards, however, Conrad and his band disappeared from view completely.

Mantras (stylized as ~mAntras~) is the sixth studio album by American rock band Alien Ant Farm, released on April 26, 2024. It is their first studio album in 9 years, since Always and Forever in 2015. The album was announced on January 19, 2024, alongside releasing a single titled "So Cold" that same day.

The Piano Sonata in E minor D 566 by Franz Schubert is a sonata for solo piano written in June 1817. The original manuscript appeared to lack a finale. Ludwig Scheibler (1848-1921) was the first to suggest in 1905 that the Rondo in E, D.506 might be that movement. The British composer and musicologist Kathleen Dale produced the first edition using this suggestion in 1948. The 1976 Henle edition by Paul Badura-Skoda followed the same practice.

“Back in the day” I had the pleasure of interviewing Andreas Varady who, at the time, was just 13 years old and an already great player. Since then, he has continued on his musical journey and has had some amazing stops along the way with the likes of Qunicy Jones and George Benson.
