Herbert von Karajan (German: [ˈhɛʁbɛʁt fɔn ˈka(ː)ʁajan] ⓘ; born Heribert Ritter[a] von Karajan; 5 April 1908 – 16 July 1989) was an Austrian conductor. He was principal conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic for 34 years.

Beethoven’s Sonatas for Piano and Cello, Op. 5 are revolutionary works, with neither instrument subservient and the piano fully independent. This release also features his vivacious variations on ‘Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen’ and ‘Bei Männern, welche Liebe fu¨hlen’ from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. Volume 2 is scheduled for release on 8.574530 in November.

Haydn’s creative imagination was stimulated by eminent Italian composers such as Porpora and Scarlatti and by his contemporary C.P.E. Bach, whose piano sonatas Haydn had performed. Through Georg Wagenseil, an important figure in Viennese music for the piano, he also absorbed a new sense of musical form. Together, these influences generated Haydn’s own individual language, as shown in the Sonata in C major with its elegance and wit. The Andante con variazioni in F minor shows further refinement and development in the composer’s command of variation form. Alexandra Ivanova performs on fortepianos from Haydn’s era.

Chris Abelen is a Dutch Jazz trombonist, composer & bandleader. This album is the second part of a larger project spearheaded by Chris Abelen that includes the previously issued CD, "A Day at the Office". Taken together, the two recordings consist of a musical journey through the modern corporate office, an unlikely musical theme but one which speaks directly to the lives of the many who experience a wide range of emotions in the course of their work day. Ablelen has been able to combine funky guitar/bass/drums rhythmic patterns with post-bop, modal jazz improvisations into a seamless fit.

Tsotne Zedginidze is a descendant of Niko Sulkhanishvili, considered one of the greatest Georgian composers of all time, and a renowned pedagogue. Recording on our joint label Verbier Festival Gold, the prodigious talent Tsotne Zedginidze, born in 2009, releases the full recording of his debut at the Verbier Festival in 2022. He is not only a virtuosic pianist, but also a composer and has been heralded by some great musicians such as Daniel Barenboim and Giya Kancheli as one of the most exceptionally gifted musicians of the century. The album contains works by Debussy, Schoenberg and Bartók as well as two original compositions by the artist himself.

A Jazz scholarship which allows you to completely focus on music for a whole year without existence pressure, free from academic curricula, credits and exams, in an international band consisting of the most talented musicians and accompanied by globally outstanding personalities from the Jazz scene: This dream has become reality at a place which is globally unique to the world of Jazz - The Jazzcampus of the Musikhochschule/FHNW in Basel. Started in 2014 as part of the anniversary of the death of Jean-Philippe Rameau with the recording of the Fêtes de Polymnie, the partnership between the Baroque Music Center of Versailles and the ensembles of Hungarian conductor György Vashegyi, Orfeo Orchestra and Purcell Choir, ends with the recording of another opera by Rameau, Les Boréades, in which the talented Sabine Devieilhe and Reinoud Van Mechelen take part.

Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points has announced his new album Cascade will be released on 13 September via Ninja Tune. Along with the announcement Shepherd has shared lead single 'Key103' which comes with visuals continuing his ongoing collaboration with Tokyo based artist Akiko Nakayama.

Paradise Cinema is a project led by multi-instrumentalist Jack Wyllie (Portico Quartet/Szun Waves) with contributions from Khadim Mbaye, Tons Sambe and Laurence Pike. The first, eponymous, Paradise Cinema record, released in 2020, was recorded in Dakar and featured the dense rhythms of Mbalax music combining with Wyllie’s textural saxophone and synth playing.
