The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – MySpace era survivors and perennial comeback kids – aren’t going to end up Face Down any time soon. A seven year absence has brought us to ‘X’s For Eyes’, a record that puts us back in touch with our inner teens. It would be tacky for the RJA to make the kind of music they were pushing at the turn of the millennium, but the spirit of adolescence tangled up in the distance of time oozes from their sixth album. They’ve grown up, but not for a second forgotten where they came from.

Natalie Grant released her new Christmas album, Christmas, on October 3, 2025, featuring classic and original holiday songs. To promote the album, she is touring with Danny Gokey on the 10th anniversary of their "Celebrate Christmas Tour," with dates beginning in early December 2025.

Alice Cohen has manifested throughout alternative music history in improbable ways, from MTV-era new wave with The Vels to Michael Stipe-produced grunge to 2000s hypnagogic pop. Her latest album, Archaeology, might be her most revealing work yet, which feels almost paradoxical given its prominent use of instrumental tracks. The record seeps through the accumulated layers of a 13-year Brooklyn residency, where her apartment has become something like an archaeological site. Cohen plays her father’s old Yamaha drum machine live rather than programming it, maintaining a tactile connection to family history. The songs bathe us in both intimacy and mystery, and when Cohen removes words entirely, something within the sonic shapes clarifies and offers some kind of answer.

Sweet Dusk is an album of original compositions for the Quartz Saxophone Quartet by baritone saxophonist Mick Foster. Sitting at the nexus of jazz and classical writing, Foster’s language is sophisticatedly accessible, combining contemporary jazz harmonies with soaring melodies and a pulsating rhythmic intensity. The Quartet speak this language as their own, with their members’ unique combination of experience in symphony orchestras, jazz bands, and West End shows. Sensitively recorded by Matt Wadsworth, they have a beautiful, clear, warm sound, which lets each soloist shine through whilst giving a homogeneous glow to the ensemble.

This excellent live date from the Village Vanguard was the recording debut of the Adderley sextet, with Cannonball waxing eloquently and swingingly on alto, brother Nat charging ahead on cornet, and the versatile Yusef Lateef (who had joined the band only three weeks earlier) adding a bit of an edge on tenor, flute, and unusually for a jazz wind player, oboe on the odd, dirge-like "Syn-Anthesia." Also, this was the first recorded appearance of pianist Joe Zawinul – a little over three years since his arrival in America – in Cannonball's band. This group would be Zawinul's springboard to prominence in the jazz world, and readily apparent is how his compulsively funky mastery of bop and the blues had fused tightly with the Sam Jones/Louis Hayes rhythm section. Included is one of the earliest recordings of a Zawinul composition, "Scotch and Water," a happy, swinging blues

In 2022, it was with Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto that Daniel Matejča, 17 years old at the time, triumphed at the competition Eurovision Young Musicians. Reviewers at journals including Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, and Classica enthusiastically compared his Supraphon debut album of the complete sonatas for solo violin by Eugène Ysaÿe (2023) with recordings made by today’s star violinists. It was clear that after that solo album, Matejča would soon return to the studio to record Shostakovich’s First Concerto.

Hi Infidelity is the ninth studio album by American rock band REO Speedwagon, released on November 21, 1980, by Epic Records. The album became a big hit in the United States, peaking at number one on the Billboard 200. It went on to become the biggest-selling album of 1981, eventually being certified 10 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Of the four singles released, "Take It on the Run" went to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the band got their first of two number one hits with "Keep On Loving You".

The title of their second album, Ænima, although invented by the band, is meant in part to evoke Jung's concept of the "anima," or life force, and the LP is riddled with existential ruminations on why we're here and whether it's worth it. "How could this mean anything to me?" mutters Maynard James Keenan's protagonist in "Stinkfist," and his delivery is so convincingly wolrd-weary you almost don't notice that he's singing about having his arm "shoulder deep" up someone's rectum.
