‘What Are You Going to Do with Your Life?’ is the eighth studio album by British post-punk legends Echo & The Bunnymen, released on April 16, 1999. With an inspired selection of collaborators including strings from the London Metropolitan Orchestra and two songs featuring the American rap rock band Fun Loving Criminals, ‘What Are You Going to Do with Your Life?’ featured two singles, the title track, and the atmospheric fan favourite ‘Rust’, which would mark the band’s final Top 40 UK single. Celebrating 25 years of ‘What Are You Going to Do with Your Life?’ the album is issued on an expansive 34-track 2CD which features B-sides, alternative versions and previously unreleased live versions of both tracks from the album and classic Bunnymen tracks.

In 2002, Regina Spektor was in the midst of a creative explosion. She found herself writing so many songs that she was unable to keep track of them. Her friend Joe Mendelson noticed she was forgetting some entirely, and offered to archive everything she had written that year. After Regina recorded dozens of songs, one take each, they decided to pick twelve and make them into an album. And so, Songs was born. The record includes the original versions of “Samson” and “Ne Me Quitte Pas”, later re-recorded on Begin to Hope and What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, respectively.

Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen built Relations during COVID by emailing rhythm tracks to musicians around the world. The key to the project's success came from ECM founder Manfred Eicher, who suggested that Strønen only invite artists that he had never worked with before.

Last year, Clapton hosted and curated the seventh instalment of his Crossroads Guitar Festival on September 23 and 24 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. It notably marked the event's return after a four-year break, selling out the iconic arena on both days. Once again, Clapton carefully assembled a powerhouse cohort of influential guitarists representing various eras and styles.

Arild Andersen, one of jazzs most widely acclaimed bassists, presents his first solo album. Characteristically broad in its musical scope and creative range, Landloper was recorded primarily at Oslos Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene (with one piece recorded at Arilds home). Choice of repertoire in this recital reflects on Arilds artistic journey, and, alongside Andersen originals (Dreamhorse, Mira, Landloper), we find Norwegian traditional music (Old Stev), a romantic jazz standard (A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square), and new light cast upon free jazz classics (Albert Aylers Ghosts, Ornette Colemans Lonely Woman, Charlie Hadens Song for Che).

Taking Turns, recorded in New York's Avatar Studio a decade ago, finds Danish guitarist Jakob Bro joined by a multi-generational cast of improvisers, highly distinctive players all. Lee Konitz, Andrew Cyrille, Bill Frisell, Jason Moran and Thomas Morgan lend their energies to a session that bypasses conventions of the "all-star" band and puts the emphasis on teamwork. Bro's space-conscious music encourages fresh responses: an atmospheric hint, or a fragment of gentle melody, opening up new trails to explore. "My compositions are about catching a glimpse of a feeling, sketching it down and then unfolding it as we record", said Jakob Bro at the time.

Dating from the 1970s, Rafael Kubelik’s incisive and acclaimed reading of Beethoven’s second and fifth symphonies in the Remastered Classics series from Pentatone, performed with panache by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Though influenced by the British Invasion, The Guess Who were purely Canadian rockers. The band scored a string of Top Ten hits in the late ’60s and early ’70s, including the psychedelic-romantic smash “These Eyes” and the riff-rocking anthem “American Woman”. The band was a huge success in the States and even performed at President Nixon’s inaugural ball (with the acerbic “American Woman” conspicuously omitted from the set list). Burton Cummings’ throaty baritone vocals and guitarist Randy Bachman’s theatrical riffs gave the band their versatile sound – and their rocking classics sound as vital today as they did when they were first released. This Dutton Vocalion’s reissue combines a pair albums from 1970 “American Woman” and “Share The Land”, remastered from the Original Master tapes by Michael J. Dutton.
