The Human League’s iconic third studio album, Dare, will be reissued as an SDE exclusive blu-ray audio in October.
Produced by Martin Rushent, Dare was created by a new look Human League line-up that consisted of Philip Oakey (vocals, synthesizer), Jo Callis (synthesizer, guitar), Philip Adrian Wright (visuals, synthesizer), Joanne Catherall (vocals), Susan Ann Sulley (vocals) and Ian Burden (synthesizer). With the new personnel came a fresh, cutting-edge pop sensibility and the group used this to create an album that was not only an enormous commercial and critical success upon its release, but one which has since been hailed as one of the most groundbreaking records of its time.

Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, completed in 1845, opened up a new concept of piano concerto. In lieu of virtuosic pyrotechnics of the Romantic concertos, Schumann’s piano concerto demands from the piano soloist a subtler and higher level of musicianship to be intimately interplayed with the orchestra. This concerto was one of the finest fruits he bore from the happy and productive years from 1840-1845. In this period, he produced works at largerscale forms such as symphonies, oratorios, concertos, and chamber music, and the piano concerto was the first of those attempts.

Singer, songwriter and author Ali Sethi had been entranced by Jaar’s music long before they began collaborating. He’d absorbed the sounds over a number of years, listening casually and taking in their subtleties in bars and rooftop parties across Lahore and London. “It felt familiar to me, that sense of adventure you have when you hear his music, like a tale that teases you and plays with your expectations as it unfolds,” says Sethi. “In that sense it resembled the leisurely improvised ghazals and qawwalis I grew up hearing in Pakistan.”

NEON, the third studio album by Manchester Collective, contains a paradox at its heart. The album is unambiguously about the night, about dark city streets, evoking glass, concrete and slow, incessant rain. However, it is also by some margin our brightest, breeziest and most optimistic record. Scarlet's Walk is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter and pianist Tori Amos. It was released on October 28, 2002 in the UK and October 29 in the US on Epic Records, making it her first release on the label after her split with Atlantic Records. Her first studio album of original material since To Venus and Back in 1999, the 18-track concept album (described by Amos as a "sonic novel about a road trip") details the cross-country travels of Scarlet, a character loosely based on Amos, and was greatly inspired by the changes in American society and politics post-September 11, 2001.

Anthony Nunziata's third solo studio album "The Time We Have" features thirteen original songs produced by Nunziata and Nashville's Ryan Prewett, featuring a full band and orchestra made up of Nashville's finest musicians.

Following their acclaimed debut, VOLUME ONE, Darren Pickering Small Worlds continues their investigation of the intersection between cinematic aesthetics and electronic textures within the framework of contemporary jazz. Electronic textures are more prevalent on VOLUME TWO, a set that includes solo piano tracks that employ modular synths and resonators. VOLUME TWO represents a logical progression in Darren’s artistic and compositional vision.

Apart from continuously composing new material, a lot of Darren’s compositions have been around for years in chart form, performed in concerts, or as demos. After performing one of the ‘Live at Alex’s’ YouTube episodes and being impressed by the audio quality, Darren determined that the time had come to document some of his tunes properly. He and the band decided to use Alex’s home recording studio for the recording, and over several ‘mini-sessions’ between October and December 2021 they recorded enough material for two albums. This is Volume One.
