This 1954 studio date, a self-titled album recorded for Emarcy, was later reissued as Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown to denote the involvement of one of the top trumpeters of the day. Vaughan sings nine intimate standards with a band including Brown on trumpet, Herbie Mann on flute, and Paul Quinichette on tenor.

The last of his studio albums released in his lifetime, Sam Cooke's Ain't That Good News offers a lot of superb material, pointing in several directions that, alas, were to go largely unexplored. The central number is, of course, the earth-shattering "A Change Is Gonna Come", with its soaring gospel sound and the most elaborate production of any song in Cooke's output.

This first full-length album from the young German indie pop songstress follows the 2015 eponymous debut EP that launched her into the public eye. The Pulsar Trio has once again created a very fine, highly playful and consistently entertaining ethno-jazz album, "Zoo of Songs". GRAMMY Award-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato joins conductor Alan Curtis and Il Complesso Barocco for this electrifying program of royal arias from the 17th and 18th century. It features compositions by luminary figures including Handel and Vivaldi, as well as, lesser-known composers including Orlandini and Porta. Her previous album for Virgin Classics, Diva, Divo, won a GRAMMY® Award in February 2012. DiDonato calls this themed recital her “most exciting recording project to date…high drama, profound emotion, fearless vocal writing, time-stopping passages, historical significance and real discovery”.

Renowned Canadian multi-genre chanteuse Molly Johnson sixth studio album, "Because Of Billie", is a tribute to Billie Holiday. Recorded in Toronto with producers John Bailey and Mike Downes, Johnson wanted to infuse Because Of Billie with her idol’s spirit, preparing the songs emotionally and technically so many could be recorded in one take. Billie Holiday’s journey inspires Johnson not only as an artist, but as a model citizen. “Billie and her generation were the civil rights movement,” Johnson notes. “Her generation sacrificed for my privilege and I am honour-bound to them. I love history. I love to look back while pushing forward”.

Since 2006 the Bremen jazz pianist Jens Schöwing and his ensemble have dedicated themselves to a person many music connoisseurs consider the greatest “jazzer” of all time: Johann Sebastian Bach. Blue Note Bach charms the listener with a balance of classically woven musical textures played with a definite jazz identity.

"Gimme The Boots" proves once again that Berlin quartet Mo’ Blow has successfully perfected a hybrid of sounds of the 1970s and the contemporary. The whole album originates from the band's own machine, including the compositions for all 12 tracks and the distinctive sound the quartet has developed over a decade of playing together.
